The Hemswell Cliff Community Centre is a much needed facility used by many and is under threat of imminent closure.
This will mean that Hemswell Cliff will be a village with no heart.
YOU stand to lose:
2 Large community rooms with kitchen facilities and a stage.
Meeting and private party facilities
Community group office facilities
Police office
Preschool (Moved to the school aleady with half the capacity and no potential for expansion)
Doctor's surgery
Mothers and Toddlers Group (gone)
Community coffee shop
Hairdresser (gone)
There is the possibility that the building will stand vacant and derelict for years attacting vandals and becoming an eyesore.
Consider whether or not this lack of facilities will affect property values.
We may have an opportunity to save the centre.
Your parish council has been working to find a solution through official channels
BUT YOUR action is needed.
YOUR VOICE COUNTS!
If the District Council thinks that the residents aren't bothered, they will have no grounds or incentive to take action.

The Community Centre is owned and operated by the Royal Air Force but after the 20th October 2008 will pass into the hands of Annington Homes. Annington Homes have not given any response to enquiries about their future intentions for the property.
Sadly the R.A.F will be pulling out of Hemswell Cliff with effect from the end of August 2008 and the community centre will transfer to the ownership of Annington Homes. It's future at this time is uncertain. Our County Councillor and our District Councillor are investigating options but all these are dependent upon the new owners.
The community centre has meeting rooms available for hire at VERY reasonable rates for meetings, childrens' parties, adult education classes etc. etc. Contact the caretaker or Merryl in the Coffee Pot for details.
